Kyushu Railway Company, Kokura General Rolling Stock Center

Learning at a railway depot: The logistics operations that support people and goods

Established in 1891 as a rolling stock maintenance facility for the Kyushu Railway, which had extended its line to Moji, this factory boasts a history of over 100 years. It conducts inspections, repairs, and modifications of railway rolling stock, as well as technical development, and is solely responsible for the maintenance of trains operating within Kyushu—including the “Seven Stars in Kyushu,” the “Limited Express Yufuin no Mori,” and the “Limited Express Sonic”—as well as D&S trains.
