Rising 471 meters above sea level, Yugawayama (Mt. Yugawa) is a scenic mountain on the border of Okagaki and Munakata in Fukuoka Prefecture. Cherry Blossom Paths and Trails for a Range of Hikers

Yugawayama is a low mountain that is also recommended for hiking beginners. The main hiking routes take about 1–2 hours to reach the summit, offering a good introduction to mountain hiking while still providing a satisfying climb for more experienced hikers. At the foot and middle slopes of the mountain, the Yugawayama Sakura Road features more than 300 cherry trees along the road, creating a beautiful tunnel of blossoms in spring.

Surrounded by White Sand, Green Pines, and the Blue Sea

Sanri Matsubara, seen from the mountain, is a beautiful landscape of pine forests and white sandy beaches stretching from Okagaki Town to Ashiya Town. The blue of the Genkai Sea, the white of the waves and sand, and the deep green of the pine grove create a striking contrast. The beach is also known as a place where loggerhead turtles come to lay their eggs, making it a remarkable area where nature and wildlife thrive.

Yugawayama is easily accessible by a 15-minute taxi ride from JR Ebitsu Station. After hiking the mountain, visitors can also enjoy the surrounding coastal scenery, including Sanri Matsubara and Hazu Beach.
